A company that is dedicated to helping businesses in the South West grow and maximise their success had a big tick in the box after three of its clients came out on top at a prestigious awards evening.
Inspire watched on as Poppy’s Picnic, Chorus and Prezola all scooped awards at the Business Leader Awards, the South West’s biggest and most celebrated business awards event of the year.
Hosted by comedian Russell Kane, 600 guests, including CEOs, VIPs, business leaders and professionals attended the black-tie event, which featured a champagne reception, gala dinner, awards presentation and charity casino.
The awards were open to businesses across the region and judged by an independent panel of experts who spent several weeks assessing entries and visiting businesses. More than 200 award entries were received this year – a record number – and judges commented that the calibre of entries was incredibly high.
Ali Beaven, Creative Director at online wedding gift list business Prezola, won Entrepreneur of the Year and commented: “It is so great to receive recognition after all the hard work that has gone into growing Prezola and it’s amazing team.
“Back in 2014, Inspire supported our successful application for a Government Growth grant which really helped accelerate Prezola’s success. From then until today they’ve been on hand to support our growth, connect us with like-minded businesses and help us through the maze of growing a business from our base in the South West.”
Raw pet food supplier Poppy’s Picnic won the Start-Up Business Award and Director Louise Mackintosh commented: “The beauty of Inspire is that they work with businesses of all sizes and at all points in their business journey. It’s fair to say that they have really held our hands in the first couple of years in business and we’ve received invaluable support with many things from grant funding advice, to building a network.
“it’s amazing for Poppy’s Picnic to be recognised as ‘one-to-watch’ at this stage and given the calibre of the businesses that were in the room, we genuinely didn’t see a win coming.”
Chorus, who work with companies across the UK implementing, improving and supporting their infrastructure and business software, won the Customer Excellence award on the night and Marketing Manager Lisa Curry commented: “We have been working with Inspire since the start of the year and were absolutely delighted to win at the Business Leader Awards. Considering the businesses that we were up against, it was great to come out on top.”
Rob Perks, CEO at Inspire, said: “It was great to see businesses that we have helped come out on top – it makes it all worthwhile for us and everyone at Inspire would like to say a huge well done to all three.
“Awards are sometimes over-looked by businesses, but they shouldn’t be – if you can have ‘award-winning’ before your name it can make a huge difference, so they are really important to enter.”
